In the morning of February 7th, 2024, after eighteen months of anxious waiting, we were finally relocated from our temporary laboratory in the basement of the Department of Physics (ETHZ) to our newly renovated lab space in the underground of the OLHB building at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI).

Thanks to the careful preparations by our group members and the on-site efforts of Franklin, Fangde, Majid, and Alex, all our equipments and goods were nicely and safely packed, ensuring a smooth move.

The ideal conditions of our new lab, with temperature, humidity, and vibration stabilization, will allow us to progress to the next stages of our research. We are currently assembling the vacuum apparatusses and laser systems, planning our next steps for the lab infrastructure, and discussing exciting prospects to implement in our experiments. We are thrilled about the prospect of seeing the trapped atoms with our own eyes in the near future!

To celebrate the beginning of this exciting new chapter, we had our first full-group member gathering at PSI on 12, Feb. Following our regular weekly group meeting, we enjoyed an apero, with an assortment of cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, and snacks.
