ETH Quantum Center's General Meeting
A Blend of Science and Scenery on Appenzell
From June 24th to 26th, Prof. Xu, Alex, Majid, and Luis attended the ETH Quantum Center's General Meeting at the foot of Mount Säntis in Schwägalp, representing our group. This event provided an exciting opportunity for the research community across ETH's departments to share their latest findings and learn about their peers' work in the field of quantum science.
One of the highlights was the keynote speech by Prof. Peter Zoller on his groundbreaking work in quantum simulation with atoms and ions. We also presented our ongoing research and gained insights from the diverse projects of other groups. Luis gave an oral presentation talking on the latest technical advances in our lab concerning dynamical control over light patterns. Majid presented a poster about our ongoing research and won the Best Poster Prize! Congratulations, Majid!
Beyond the scientific discussions, we enjoyed a memorable evening at the
top of Mount Säntis. We were fortunate that the heavy rain stopped
during the conference dinner, allowing us to enjoy a stunning sunset.
It was a fantastic event filled with inspiring talks, discussions, and
beautiful scenery. We look forward to continuing our work and bringing
new scientific results from our group to the next General Meeting.
